Our Process

From first conversation to first shift.

  1. 1

    We talk.

You call or reach out, and a member of our clinical team answers, not a call center. We listen to your child's situation and tell you how we can help.

  2. 2

    We confirm eligibility.

We walk your family through GAPP and Katie Beckett requirements, gather what's needed, and manage the application and authorization process on your behalf.

  3. 3

    We build the care plan.

Our clinical director works with your child's physician to develop a plan of care around your child's specific diagnosis, goals, and home environment.

  4. 4

    We match the right nurse.

Every nurse is selected for your child's clinical needs, not just availability. They are oriented to your child's case before the first shift so nothing is unfamiliar on day one.

  5. 5

    Care begins.

Consistent coverage, proactive communication, and a clinical team you can always reach. We close the loop so you always know where things stand.

Family Caregiver Option

You may be able to get paid to care for your own child.

Through GAPP's Family Caregiver Option, an eligible family member who lives with the child can be hired and compensated as part of the care team. We handle the enrollment and paperwork. If this applies to your family, we will walk you through it.

The Family Caregiver Option is available for Personal Support Services. Eligibility requirements apply.

Common Questions

Answers to what families ask us most.

Pediatric nurse providing bedside care to a child at home

How long does GAPP approval take?

There is no exact timeline, however, the process typically takes several weeks from the time a complete application is submitted

My child isn't on Medicaid, can they still qualify?

Possibly. The Katie Beckett / TEFRA waiver allows children with significant medical needs to qualify for Medicaid based on their own income, not their parents'. We help families explore this option.

Do I get to choose my child's nurse?

Yes. We present you with matched options and you have the final say.

What conditions does Classic City care for?

We care for children with tracheostomies, ventilator dependence, G-tube and enteral feeding needs, seizure disorders, cerebral palsy, and other medically complex diagnoses requiring continuous skilled nursing.

Is there really no cost to our family?

For services approved through GAPP, there is no out-of-pocket cost to families. Approved services are covered in full by Medicaid.

We already have a GAPP agency. Can we switch to Classic City?

Yes. Families can change GAPP providers at any time, the choice of agency is always yours. We'll coordinate the transition so your child's care continues without interruption
